Pigmenta Privacy Policy

Pigmenta is a story coloring app for children, published by Recite Labs One Member PLC (“Recite Labs”, “we”, “us”), based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This policy explains what Pigmenta collects, why, and how a parent or guardian can ask us to delete it.

1. Who this app is for

Pigmenta is made for children. A parent or guardian should review this policy before a child uses the app. We do not show ads, we do not sell personal information, and we do not run a public social feed.

2. Information we collect

When someone uses Pigmenta we may store:

A display name — the first name or nickname entered during setup, plus a chosen avatar color.
An anonymous account id — created automatically so drawings stay attached to that profile. We do not require an email address or phone number to use the app.
Saved artwork — coloring pages the child saves.
Technical logs — basic diagnostics such as app version and error reports, used only to keep the app working.

We do not collect location, contacts, photos from the camera roll, or payment details.

3. How we use this information

To show the child’s profile and saved pictures inside the app.
To generate coloring-page illustrations from a story prompt.
To fix bugs and keep the service running.

We do not use this data for advertising or for selling to third parties.

4. Generative AI

Some coloring pages are created with Google’s Gemini image models. The story prompt (for example, “a turtle on a beach”) is sent to Google to produce a black-and-white line drawing. We do not send the child’s name or saved artwork to Google for that generation step.

5. Where data is stored

App data is hosted on Convex (Convex.dev) on our behalf. Drawings and profile details are stored so the child can come back to their work. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.

6. Sharing

We share information only:

With service providers who host or generate content for Pigmenta (Convex, Google Gemini).
When required by law.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Retention

We keep the profile and saved drawings while the account is active. If a parent or guardian asks us to delete the account, we remove the profile, drawings, and anonymous account within 30 days, except for limited records we may need for security or legal reasons.

8. Delete an account

A parent or guardian can request deletion at any time. See Delete your Pigmenta account for the steps.

9. Children’s privacy

Pigmenta is directed at children. We collect only what is needed to run the coloring experience: a nickname, an anonymous id, and saved pictures. If you believe we have more information than that about a child, email us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of Pigmenta after an update means the new policy applies.
