Pigmenta is a parent tool for creating story coloring books, operated by Recite Labs One Member PLC (“Recite Labs”, “we”, “us”), based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The iOS app is distributed on the App Store by Utterware SRL. This policy explains what Pigmenta collects, why, and how you can ask us to delete it.
1. Who this app is for
Pigmenta accounts are for parents and other adults. You sign in, curate stories, and generate line-art pages. A child may color those pages on your device in a simple kiosk. Children do not create accounts. We do not show ads, we do not sell personal information, and we do not run a public social feed.
2. Information we collect
When you use Pigmenta we may store:
- Account details — the email address you use to sign in, and a hashed password if you create an email account.
- Google sign-in — if you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your Google account email, name, and profile image with us so we can open or link your Pigmenta account.
- Parent profile — the display name and avatar color you set in the app.
- Stories and pages — titles, story text, prompts, generated line art, colored samples, optional motion GIFs, and the family artwork a child saves from the coloring kiosk.
- Technical logs — basic diagnostics such as app version and error reports, used only to keep the app working.
We do not collect location, contacts, the device camera roll, or payment details. Children coloring on a parent’s device do not have a separate profile or email.
3. How we use this information
- To keep you signed in and show your family library.
- To generate story pages, line art, colored samples, and optional motion GIFs.
- To save finished coloring pages to your family artwork.
- To fix bugs and keep the service running.
We do not use this data for advertising or for selling to third parties.
4. Generative AI
Story pages and images are created with Google’s Gemini models on our servers. The story text and image prompts you enter (for example, “a turtle on a beach”) are sent to Google to produce illustrations and line art. We do not send a child’s name or saved coloring pages to Google for that generation step. If you put a child’s name into a story prompt, that text is part of the prompt we send.
5. Where data is stored
App data is hosted on Convex (Convex.dev) on our behalf. Sign-in tokens on the device are stored in the operating system’s secure storage. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.
6. Sharing
We share information only:
- With service providers who host, authenticate, or generate content for Pigmenta (Convex, Google for Gemini and optional Google sign-in).
- When required by law.
We do not sell personal information.
7. Retention
We keep your account, stories, and family artwork while the account is active. If you ask us to delete the account, we remove the profile, stories, drawings, and sign-in records within 30 days, except for limited records we may need for security or legal reasons.
8. Delete an account
You can request deletion at any time. See Delete your Pigmenta account for the steps.
9. Children’s privacy
Pigmenta is not directed at children as account holders. A parent or other adult owns the account. A child may color pages you have already prepared, on your signed-in device, without creating an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have a child’s personal information, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of Pigmenta after an update means the new policy applies.
